F1-75 and France GP: a Ferrari story of car dominance and team faults

Millions of Ferrari fans screamed with Charles Leclerc, out of the race after hitting the barriers on lap 18.

Retired as leader of the race at the France GP, able to put together a perfect race before the mistake that condemned the Monegasque to another DNF, despite the F1-75 looking stronger after the recent upgrades.

France GP: Ferrari Hopes before Woes

Ferrari looked strong and competitive over the weekend. Sainz changes power unit on Friday practice.  This means that the Spaniard took the penalty on grid and started last on Sunday. Both Sainz and Leclerc are fast during practice.  On the other hand Red Bull, especially with Checo Perez, looks to struggle in finding the right setup for the race.

Ferrari brings the best team performance seen throughout the season.

Sainz is fast, and qualifies to Q3, and even if with the penalty forcing the #55 to last position, is there with the top 10. Here, finally we saw Sainz towing Leclerc with the perfect wake. Result is Leclerc claiming another pole position in this 2022 championship.

France GP Race on Sunday

Then is Sunday. The race is another script of Ferrari making a team mistake. This time is Charles himself going to the barriers, coming at lap 18, after being absolutely spectacular in keeping behind Verstappen and bound to start building a bigger gap from the Dutchman.

Sainz on the other end is the star of the show. As Verstappen sends many thanks to Leclerc for the easy win, Carlos shows how Ferrari’s upgrades are closing the gap with Red Bull. Incredible the fight with Perez for P3, before pitting and receiving the 5 second penalty for unsafe release at the previous pit-stop.

While the France GP ends with another disappointing finish for Ferrari, the positive note is on the dominance the F1-75 looks to have over the other cars.

Sainz had new power unit along with the upgraded front-mid floor and worked on the diffuser, with greater results in terms of aerodynamic performance and stability and grip on asphalt.

As the championship is at halfway point, Red Bull and Verstappen consolidated their positions, with enough point advantage from Ferrari and Leclerc that looks to be getting harder and harder to recoup.

Next week is race again in Hungary, another race that sees Ferrari favorite. Hoping that the Cavallino will be able to convert a potential pole position to race glory.
